Introducing the Help'EmUp Harness with "Hip Lift." A complete shoulder and hip harness system that literally lifts the lives of aging or recovering dogs! By placing a pair of handles where you can quickly reach them, this unique harness allows you to lend support at any time.

The harness is especially helpful for owners whose dogs are feeling the effects of aging or health issues. It's also perfect for Veterinarians and Orthopedic Surgeons who work with dogs recovering from injuries or surgery. In fact, the pain it minimizes may very well be your own!

What makes this harness truly unique is it's designed to stay on your dog for extended periods of time. Unlike towels, slings or leashes that need to be rigged with each use, or ramps that have to be moved or adjusted, our harness is right at hand, whenever you need it. We believe if support isn't there when your dog needs it, it's just too late.

The Help'EmUp Harness represents a breakthrough for Orthopedic Surgeons, Veterinarians, Vet Techs, Therapists, or anyone else who is lifting dogs on a daily basis, because you can't help them if doing so is hurting YOU! Our harness provides a way to provide better care for dogs recovering from injuries or surgery -- simply by reducing the chances of re-injury during recuperation.

The unique design lifts the dog's mass from below, beneath the chest and pelvis, distributing weight over large padded surfaces. The chest and back panels are lined with new air flow materials and perforated neoprene to keep the harness as cool and comfortable as possible. Straps are also covered with neoprene sleeves and areas of most friction are covered with super soft micro fleece.

The "Hip Lift" half consists of a belly band, support straps and a movable pelvic pad that spreads weight over multiple surfaces, allowing you to lift the complete pelvic floor while supporting the spine. By lifting from beneath, and not around the legs, it reduces strain on joints, ligaments and arteries.

Constructed of neoprene, the harness is buoyant and perfect for getting pups in and out of water - therapists will appreciate that. It's machine washable, so it cleans up easily - but we recommend you let it air dry for greater longevity.

Today's dogs are living longer. According to recent data, nearly 50% of dogs in the United States are age 6 or older, and as many as 31% of them are between the ages of 6 and 10. Past the age of 7, the incidence of canine arthrities doubles and, for many dogs mobility starts to become an issue. With hip dysplasia, myelopathy, joint disease and muscle atrophy, this harness becomes real help for owners and vets who need it.

The Conventional Hip Lift

The best fit for all females and most males

The conventional version has a solid belly band and works very well for all female dogs and the majority of male dogs.

It has two fasteners on the belly band, for easier centering, a moveable pelvic pad and padded support straps. For most male dogs the penis comes out forward of the belly band, allowing them to urinate freely. We recommend this version for most dogs.

The moveable pelvic pad is made of neoprene and covered with fleece. It should be positioned under the pelvic plate, to provide additional support for the hips and spine. It can be made narrower to avoid irritation and it locks in place with velcro. It can be removed for male dogs who are intact, for added comfort.

The U-Band Hip Lift

For male dogs whose penis is located farther back.

The U-shaped opening in the belly band provides clearance for those male dogs who may be hindered from urinating by the conventional version. These dogs have a penis that is located further back between their hind legs. The U-shaped opening helps them to urinate freely.

The armature used to create this opening is padded but even so we do not recommend letting dogs lay in for extended periods of time.

Note: Harnesses are sold as a front & back combination. We do not recommend using the Hip Lift by itself as it may slide off, possibly causing injury to your dog. Also, do not leave it on your dog for over-extended lengths of time. Use it as needed and then when possible – remove.

Properly fitting the Hip Lift

For most male dogs, the conventional belly band fits in front of the hind legs, behind the penis.

The penis shown here is forward of hind legs 1 to 2 inches.

This dog will need the Conventional Hip Lift

On 20-25 percent of male dogs, their penis starts farther back between their legs. The U-band shape provides an easy opening so they can urinate freely.

The penis shown here is between or even with the front of hind legs.

This dog will need the U-Band Hip Lift

Please call if you need to replace just the rear half of harness

Walking Leads

The new customized Help ‘Em Up Walking Handle and the Help ‘Em Up Walking Leash/Shoulder Strap provide additional walking assistance and extra leverage for owners of dogs using the Help ‘Em Up Harness.

The Help ‘Em Up Walking Handle has a unique pivoting feature that allows the handle to swivel, providing greater maneuverability and provides assistance for those dogs who may need extra leverage or help up with lifting their hips. It can attach to just the hip-lift handle, or to the front shoulder harness or both. The Walking Handle works well on all harness sizes (small – large) and as a rear-handle only with extra-large dogs.

The Help ‘Em Up Harness Walking Leash/Shoulder Straps come in two sizes: medium/large and extra-large to accompany dogs using the medium, large and extra-large Help ‘Em Up Harness. The Walking Leash is adjustable and is used for walking, but also doubles as a shoulder strap for extra leverage when lifting and/or walking with bigger dogs. It attaches to both the front shoulder harness and the back hip-lift.

Help ‘Em Up Walking Accessories are non-refundable

Overall:
Reviewed by Alma C, 06/27/2021

I bought the help’em up harness for my 11 year old Rottweiler who has begun to have trouble getting up due to arthritis. This past Tuesday I took him to the vet for his shot and to my surprise I was able to get him out of the car by myself. He weighs 123 lbs and I’m a female and not very strong. I definitely recommend the harness as well as nutra 9 store. I had an issue with shipping of the product and Dan immediately responded and resolved it. A great business with excellent products.
Thank you!! 😌
